Autumn 2013 in full swing!

As the later, lazy sun peaks its bright face over the green rolling hills, of the Overberg, the mornings bring with it an icy chill as the last colourful Autumn leaves fall from the vines before pruning. Come and enjoy the last of the warm Autumn afternoons at the Black Oystercatcher Restaurant.

Black Oystercatcher is a family-run wine farm at the cool southernmost tip of Africa, from where the boutique Black Oystercatcher wines are made.

Black Oystercatcher Wines, part of the Elim wine ward found on the Agulhas Plain of South Africa, is also home to the Black Oystercatcher Restaurant.

The boutique wines offer crisp yet elegant, fruity flavours, formed by the cool coastal winds, the unique Elim soil and our distinctive wine-making philosophy.

At the Black Oystercatcher Restaurant we live by the season, offering a fresh, intimate food experience.

"We were told we had to stop at the Black Oystercatcher on our way from Cape Agulhas to Stanford. What good advice that was. We didn't have time for a meal but their tapas looked just delectable and very fresh. We bought great tasting wine. Friendly staff. The venue is just stunning and will be a definite stop for us along with a meal - next time!

There are currently road works taking place on the road between
Gansbaai and Elim, through Baardskeerdersbos.
We are very excited about the development this new tarred road will bring to the area. Please have a look at our map to consider an alternative route or contact Gansbaai Tourism Office for an up to date report on the road. +27 (0) 28 3841439
